Report a possible error

Email [email protected] with the story URL, the disputed passage, your supporting evidence and a way to contact you. We acknowledge substantive requests and review them against the source record.

Correction, clarification or update?

• Correction: a factual statement was wrong. The story receives a visible correction note describing the original and corrected meaning.
• Clarification: the facts were accurate but wording lacked context or could reasonably mislead.
• Update: new events changed the story after publication. The modification time changes and the new material is dated where useful.

Version record

Published edits create immutable newsroom versions. We do not silently erase correction notes to make an article appear as if it had always been accurate. Minor spelling, grammar or formatting fixes that do not change meaning may be made without a correction note.
