Privacy policy

We collect only what the service needs.

Effective July 20, 2026. This policy explains information handled when you use WhyIsThisTrending.com.

Information we receive

Our servers may process IP address, browser information, requested pages, referral data and timestamps for security, reliability and aggregate measurement. If you email us, we receive the address, message and attachments you provide. Administrative users provide account and security information.

Cookies and consent

Essential cookies support security and authenticated administration. Non-essential analytics or advertising storage is not activated for users where consent is required until an appropriate choice is recorded through our consent system. Available choices will be presented before such technology is enabled.

Aggregate reader-value measurement

For published explanations, our first-party application increments daily totals for page views, 30-second active reading sessions and share-button actions. These counters do not store an IP address, device identifier, account or individual event history in the editorial-performance database. We use the totals to assess usefulness and to inform owner-reviewed editorial experiments.

Use, retention and sharing

We use information to operate, protect and improve the site; answer messages; investigate abuse; and meet legal duties. Access logs are retained only as reasonably necessary for security and diagnostics. We do not sell personal information. Service providers may process limited information under contractual duties.

Your choices

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection. Email [email protected]. We may need to verify identity and may retain information where law or a compelling editorial/public-interest duty requires it.

Changes

Material updates will change the effective date and, where appropriate, be announced on the site. This page does not replace rights granted by applicable law.
